Damn pretty. Where?

cbdoc

Thanks. A few miles outside SF.

aazav

Oh, looks like Sonoma. Possibly off of Trancas from Napa. Or it could be Fairfax. Total low rent district, I can tell. /s

cbdoc

Lafayette!

darrenz524ji

Spectacular.

jmarnett11

Is that turf or grass?

Altofin

It's turf. There is a seam.

jmarnett11

Bummer

Altofin

I just put in turf in my yard. There are many advantages. Real grass is really hard to maintain - especially if you don't have great sun exposure or great drainage.

jmarnett11

I don’t see any benefit to nature, but that’s what I look for when choosing landscaping materials. Turf really eliminates any potential for anything that would be suitable there.

Jackiemccall

We live in Arizona and have turf in our backyard it was such a wonderful decision considering how we live in the desert and are running low on water

savageinthebox

If it’s grass, I want to walk on it barefoot!

Coolkiwi79

Happy cake day and enjoy walking barefoot on the grass!

savageinthebox

Woohoo 🎉 thank you!

cbdoc

It’s turf. I went with a 2.25” extra soft 3 colored turf. Looks and feels amazing.

LeadingAgitated

Wow that is nice looking turf, looks like grass in photos

Coolkiwi79

Fucking hell… I want that view… and the landscaping to boot!

begoniab

This looks like the foothills of the sierra nevadas in California. Gold rush country.

cbdoc

California yes. About 15 miles outside of San Francisco.

begoniab

That actually makes a lot more sense for how nice it is 😂 looks good

Maresbythebay

In the early spring! Certainly not now…

foreskinfive

looks great. How do you get the lawn mower down there? Ramp or steps? I am assuming you are mowing yourself-- unless, in fact, you don't care how the peasants get the mower to the grass....

cbdoc

No mower needed. It’s turf.

foreskinfive

Well, there you go! Good deal!

Maresbythebay

You know, you should be just a bit less coy; say “artificial turf.” On a slope I’m not entirely sold; just how is ground absorption of rain on its substrate? May this not lead to increased surface runoff? I sure hope it wouldn’t lead to pollutants as material deteriorates. Hmmmm.

bpetras

Looks great! What’s the brand and style of pavers you used?

RubyPoppy1056

Nice! I have a sloped yard as well and it’s challenging to landscape it.

cbdoc

Pavers were from Belgard.

Critical_Data_4811

I like the upper right design.

WhatDoIDo129

Gorgeous!

guinnypig

What will you plant on that hill for erosion control?

cbdoc

That’s phase 2. It’s going to be low maintenance and water need ground cover with colors. We’re also adding several trees and. Seating area under the oak trees. The property is close to an acre and goes up and over the hill with the trees. But financially, we need a break so phase 2 is probably next year.

Maresbythebay

This property must also be in a very high or high wildfire risk zone. Challenging for design, but sure looks like a great start! Slopes and gorgeous mature live oaks are such a great challenge in wildfire risk zones. Balancing factors of safety, aesthetics and ecosystem health.
